What is heart failure?
Heart failure is a chronic, progressive condition in which the heart muscle is unable to pump enough blood to meet the body’s needs for blood and oxygen. Basically, the heart can’t keep up with its workload.
You might be qualified
To be eligible for this study, you must:
• Be at least 18 years of age or older
• Be diagnosed with heart failure
• Have been hospitalized (or treated in an emergency room or outpatient visit) within the last 12 months due to heart failure
• Have or have had high potassium (hyperkalemia) as a side effect of your heart failure treatment
